“Easily create stop-motion animations”

You've probably seen many stop motion movies, that kind of animation based on frames captured one by one and then joined in a video file. It takes time and patience to create an animation movie like that but now MonkeyJam makes things easier.

This video animation editor helps you to record your own animation movie following the stop motion technique. Use your digital video camera or your webcam and record as many frames as you need to create your movie. MonkeyJam will organize them in layers, thus creating a very well categorized draft of your movie. Besides, you can preview the result at any moment and check if everything's going all right.

Working with MonkeyJam is a lot of fun. It's very easy to start recording your own movie and obtain nice results even without any training. The only problem we encountered is the fact the animation is displayed with a continuous loop that we didn't know how to stop, both in preview and also once rendered as an AVI video file.

MonkeyJam is a digital penciltest program. It is designed to let you capture images from a webcam, camcorder, or scanner and assemble them as separate frames of an animation. You can also import images and sound files already on your computer. Although it is designed for pencil and paper, MonkeyJam can also be used for StopMotion animation and has several features just for that. Movies created in MonkeyJam can be exported as AVI files.
